American Affairs and Immigration
Immigrants play an indispensable role in the ongoing revitalization of America. Paul knows this firsthand from the experiences of his grandfather, who arrived on Ellis Island as a 10-year-old boy who spoke no English. His life story is an American Dream. Unfortunately, millions of migrants are living an American nightmare at our southern border. This situation has deteriorated terribly under President Biden. (See my post on addressing the crisis.)
America needs to do four things:
- Secure the southern border, including aggressive action against the coyote cartels
- Clear out and close the detention centers that have become de facto refugee camps
- Reform the system so that immigrants must come to the “front door”
- Work with our Central American neighbors to improve living conditions in those countries, thereby stemming the root cause of illegal immigration.
Biden’s policies effectively abet human trafficking. Ending the open border will be one of my top priorities in Congress.
